Weddings and The Runaways Acoustic Duo: Making Your Big Day Even More Special
Weddings are magical, aren't they? There’s something undeniably special about witnessing a couple's love as they take their vows. As The Runaways Acoustic Duo, one of our favourite parts of the day is being the soundtrack for those unforgettable moments. From the joy of guests reuniting with loved ones to the adorable smiles of the page boys and flower girls, and of course, the glowing faces of the happy couple – we love being part of it all.
Setting the Scene for Your Wedding Day
As your wedding day unfolds, we’re here to help create the perfect atmosphere. We start with 30 minutes of beautiful background music as your guests arrive and settle in for the ceremony. Then, as you walk down the aisle, we’ll perform the song of your choice, adding an extra layer of emotion to the moment. As you sign the register we’ll continue to play a few more songs before closing with your first song as a married couple as you walk hand in hand out of your ceremony, greeted by cheers and applause, and straight into your drinks reception.
A Lively Drinks Reception
Speaking of the reception, we typically play for about an hour during the drinks reception. This is when your guests will mingle, enjoy delicious canapés, and perhaps indulge in a little too much Pimm’s (but hey, it’s healthy with all that fruit, right?). During this time, we’ll turn up the energy and get your guests ready for a fun-filled day of celebration. We’ll swap out the mellow tunes and bring you a lively mix of upbeat tracks – think The Kooks, Harry Styles, and more, to keep the mood lively and fun.
Multiple Locations? No Problem!
If your ceremony and reception are in different locations, that’s absolutely fine with us! We just ask that you give us a little time to wrap up our performance at the ceremony, pack up, and head over to the reception venue. Once we arrive, we’ll quickly set up and get started again. We’ll do everything we can to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible, but safety is always our top priority. Depending on the distance between venues, we can usually manage the move in as little as 15-30 minutes.
