The Runaways Acoustic Duo: Why We Love Performing

Bringing People Together with Music

One of our favourite things about performing live in The Runaways Acoustic Duo is the way the music we play can bring people together.

Take a wedding, we can’t tell you how many times we’ve seen a couple looking into each other's eyes or sing the words to their first dance like there is nobody else in the room.  It is so magical that we get to be a part of these pure and beautiful memories. From interesting dance moves, to a wedding guest singing at the top of the lungs in their own key, we have had the joy of seeing it all.  

Stripped-Back Acoustic Vibes

We don’t have the bells and whistles of a full band—there is no drummer, no backup dancers, although that might be an idea for our USP in the future.  It's just my voice, and Freddie’s guitar and loop pedal, with nowhere to hide, stripped back and raw. The combination of the two is what makes The Runaways Duo the perfect sound to your day.  

The Joy of Audience Participation

The energy people bring to the event is contagious, we love the buzz of it, and there is nothing better than a bit of audience participation. You know we’ve always got one more song left on the setlist, even if we say this is our last one (cue disappointed sigh), so go on and ask for it. We want to hear you shouting “One More Song”, and we’ll give it to you, and it’ll be a banger, because the main bangers are always left for the end of the party. 

We will always have the most fun performing, whether it is background music for a wedding drinks reception, or a full party set  to end all parties. We are there for it with smiles on our faces having a blast. Music is magic and there is nothing more special than being able to bring a room full of people together to sing, dance and have fun.
